The American Musicals Project honors the great men who’ve written every kind of theater song, from raucous comedy to stirring emotion, from “Mad Dogs and Englishmen” to “Send In the Clowns.” In this annual series of concerts at the New-York Historical Society you’ll hear the full range of the Broadway musical, sung by outstanding Broadway performers. Fantasia for Sondheim

Ever since West Side Story, Stephen Sondheim’s gift as a lyricist has dazzled millions. Tonight we honor his equally magnificent brilliance as a composer, in a fantasia by the talented young composer-arranger Sam Davis. Elaine Stritch and Sam will be joined by a shining cast to sing the best of Sondheim.
